This weekend, I had the honor of making cupcakes for one of my good friends, Tracy’s, best friend’s baby shower. Yeah, that was a mouthful.
The expecting couple’s last name is Green and they’re having a baby boy, so the theme of the celebration was “The Little Green Bean”. How adorable is that!?
As the name would lead one to believe, the color theme for the party was indeed green.
There were paper flower poms and streamers in various shades of light to medium green used to decorate the room.
All of the decorations were right on theme!
That included the cupcake toppers that Tracy crafted by hand. Tracy gave me creative liberty to do which ever flavors I felt people would enjoy the most, so I decided on red velvet, caramel apple and strawberry-lime. Since the theme color was green, I ordered hue appropriate cupcake liners from the ladies at The Bakers Confections .
Ordering an item like that on-line can be a bit of a gamble, since pictures don’t always do the color and quality justice, but luckily these liners were spot on!
In order to highlight the cupcakes, we placed them in my cupcake tree; which is a fun way to display these tasty treats.
And what would a party be without a candy bar for the guests to enjoy? The candy spread was equipped with green rock candy, spearmints, gummies, Jolly Ranchers, and the like; as well as Chinese-style take out boxes for the guest to fill with sugary goodness, decorated with the shower’s “logo”, the bundle of joy in the pea pod.
As a take away, guests were given apple candles(peas just wouldn’t be as cute here lol).
I loved the super cute & original theme for this baby shower! Great job Tracy!
And best wishes to the mom & dad to be, The Greens!! 🙂
