Today I’m going to share with you another one of my loves. I absolutely love the city of New Orleans, Louisiana!!! I can never get enough of this city! The food, the culture, the people, the vibrant city life… New Orleans holds a special place in my heart. So today, I bring you weddings, New Orleans style!!

NOLA (New Orleans Louisiana) is known for a lot of things — the food, Bourbon Street, its history and of course they know how to party. And they will party for just about any reason. Their motto is “Laissez les bons temps rouler” — Let the good times roll!! With that said, incorporating some New Orleans flair to a wedding will surely provided some additional fun. Guests participate by joining the line and waving handkerchiefs in the air.

One way to add NOLA flair is by having a Second Line. Second Lines at weddings are performed by a brass band and are a celebration of joy and new beginnings for the bride and groom.

Here are some videos of second line at weddings. I’m sure you will be able to see how they help to get the party started.

And then of course you have the Food. NOLA has so much to offer when it comes to food and it’s all delicious! One couple who had a New Orleans themed wedding served a cuisine comprised of jambalaya, duck and andouille gumbo, shrimp and crawfish, fried oysters, steamed veggies, shrimp ‘n grits, blackened alligator, Louisiana crab claws and crawfish tails. (Southern Weddings) Doesn’t that sounds amazing?!?!

Because NOLA is a beautiful city with a vibrant culture, there are many elements that can be added to wedding Decor. From masks to feathers to beads, there are many fun aspects that can be incorporated. As well, NOLA is a city that’s great to use as a backdrop for photography. It helps to make some pretty amazing photos.
