Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending an event hosted by The Knot and The Bump. The event was to promote their services (wedding and baby/parenting needs). The theme was Mad Men, from the show on AMC. Although Mad Men is about an advertising agency set in the 60s, the fashion has 50s written all over it (my favorite style era).

Here are some pictures from the event:

Some of the event aspects included: a Mad Men themed cake, glow chairs, mini cupcakes, Mad Men themed papergoods (loved the sleek tie), a mac and cheese station (I mentioned this before here) and great florals.

I happen to love themed parties because it adds another element. So if you are thinking about having one, try the Mad Men theme. The attire is obviously 50s. Look to incorporate and serve classic items like vodka gimlets, Tom Collins or Manhattans. I’ve compiled some inspiration to help you along the way. (Click the photo for source.)
