Unless you’ve been sleeping under a rock for the past couple weeks, you’ve probably noticed that neon hues are making a major return for Spring 2012. From editorial spreads to store front windows; vibrant greens, pinks and oranges are everywhere!
I love color, so over the years I’ve collected everything from neon nail polish to neon jackets and shoes.
Even if bright colors aren’t your MO, I’m here to tell you how this trend can be tackled without fear. Here are a couple quick tips:
1. Pick colors that you’re most comfortable with.
Don’t go for the brightest of pinks just because that’s what you’ve seen other people do. Find a color you like and go with it!
2. Start small.
To partake in this trend, you don’t have to be dressed in head-to-toe neon. Try a neon clutch or nail polish, maybe even a top just to add a pop of color to your wardrobe.
3. Don’t be afraid to mix and match different colors.
If you’ve tried the trend and found out you love it as much as I do, don’t be afraid to pair complimentary neon items together. An electric pink pencil skirt with a fluorescent orange handbag; it’s not nearly as scary as it sounds when the other items in the outfit(the top and shoes) are neutral in color(black, white or beige).
